How Do You Get Fertilizer in Spirit Crossing?

Fertilizer acquisition is a recycling process handled through excess botanical items and Roomie's store inventory. Developer Spry Fox updated the item distribution rules in the version 14.7 update to streamline how players generate farming supplements.

Players obtain fertilizer through two distinct methods depending on their current stockpiles and daily coin flow:

  1. Recycling leftover Plant Seeds that you do not plan to pot.
  2. Recycling excess Tree Gems gathered while harvesting waystation fruit trees.
  3. Purchasing the small allotment sold each day by Roomie when checking the village shop around the daily reset.

How Does Fertilizer Work for Potted Plants?

Potted plants are indoor decorative flora grown inside your house for decoration and pigment collection. The developer redesigned potted plant interfaces so players can monitor watering and development directly.

Each potted plant displays visual indicators for Progress and Water levels. Adding water refills the water bar, which keeps the flower healthy once a thirsty marker appears over the pot. Applying fertilizer supports this process, helping domestic flowers reach full bloom.

Every flower species currently shares identical requirements for growth time, hydration, and happiness. Potted seeds and sprouted plants also display specific pigment colors directly on their icons:

  • The stripe colors on a Flower Seed icon indicate the pigment color produced by the bloom.
  • Petal shades for Rare and higher-tier varieties adjust to match tier styling, but the central core retains the assigned pigment color.
  • Non-flowering plants were removed from Roomie's merchant pool and wild bramble drops in version 14.7, prioritizing harvestable flowering varieties.

Managing Tree Gems and Seed Resources

Tree gems are harvestable botanical materials gathered from fruit and wood trees across waystations. Because tree gems serve multiple crafting roles across the community, players must balance recycling them into fertilizer against building community orchards.

As detailed on the Steam store page, community collaboration remains central to managing shared spaces. Crafting a single Tree Sapling at the Spirit Cauldron requires 50 Tree Gems of the matching variety, such as Cherry Pits or Acorn Seeds. Waystations also operate under strict tree caps based on their rank, reaching a maximum cap of 50 trees at Level 10.

Once your settlement reaches its tree cap or stockpiles sufficient saplings for future projects, convert excess seasonal gems into fertilizer. Following this broader guide to settlement resources ensures your private home garden receives consistent nutrition without stalling neighborhood planting proposals.
